Nothing adds more color and aroma to a kitchen, than herb plants that you can use during the food preparation!
\nIf you have a window in your kitchen, you can place many of these herbs such as mint, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc. in flower pots and use them every time you feel so!<\/p>\n
You can always keep them fresh or air dry them and keep them in the kitchen all year round, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.<\/p>\n
However, if you want to have fresh herbs without using flower pots, begin with stems of herb plants from your garden, or even some perennial herbs from the grocery store. Clip stems about 6 inches (15 cm.) long and remove the leaves from the bottom 4 inches (10 cm.) of the stems. <\/p>\n
If you\u2019re using grocery store herbs, cut off the bottom of each stem to allow it to absorb the most water.
\nFill a large-mouthed jar with clear water from the tap or bottle. If you use a clear glass container, you\u2019ll have to change the water more frequently, as algae will form more rapidly in a clear glass. Opaque glass is best.
\nThe stem will grow for months in this way, long enough to keep your kitchen in fresh herbs until the next generation of plants grows in the spring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
